How do I estimate the amount of storage space I need?

It depends on how often you will need to access your individual items while in storage. Our What Size Do I Need Guide can assist you to in finding the appropriate size unit for you needs. However, a visit to one of our locations, to both tour the site and meet with one of our Self Storage Professionals, is the best way to determine the most efficient size and packing methods for your individual requirements.

Can I buy boxes and other packing products from South Main Self Storage?

Do I need my own lock?

The tenant provides their own lock for the self storage. For your convenience we offer for sale a variety of quality storage unit locks in our Management Offices.

Is there a lease to sign?

We do require a lease to secure your storage space. However, the storage unit lease is month-to-month. You are not locked in for a certain period of time. You can vacate the unit by giving one month’s notice. Most importantly, the lease is a document that states the terms of your stay so you have a reference of your rights as a tenant.

Do I have to have insurance on the things I store?

Not at this time. We do however, encourage our customers to get their items added to their homeowners insurance. We also offer tenant insurance through a third party, for a small fee.

When can I access my self storage unit?

We offer 7 Days a Week Gate Access from 7am -9pm.

To whom and when do I pay my bill?

Storage unit rent is prepaid monthly, and is due on the first day of each calendar month. You will have the ability to make the payment in person, by mail, or automatic payment using a credit card.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, cashier’s check, personal/business check, MasterCard and Visa.
